I hate this holiday. Hell, I hate this whole damn season. Why, you ask? I just do. It's written into the fiber of my being to hate this time of year.

But I like how people ignore the however many other holidays and what have you there are around this time. Solstice, anyone? Not really? Didn't think so.

Christmas is the only thing that's on TV these days, you know? God, you should see the streets back home when it's this time of the year.

Can't say I watch much TV, but let me take a guess about this home of yours: lots of tinsel, lots of red and green - LOTS of red and green, actually - and obnoxious Christmas tunes everywhere you turn? Maybe a few irritating carolers dressed up like elves trying to sell you cookies?

Pretty much. And people dressed in red Santa suits. I mean, what the hell -- are we celebrating some birthday of some dead guy, or are we walking RED TARGETS FOR BULLS or something.

Gotta say the Christmas cakes are good, though.

That will be difficult. Some holidays are actually useful. Others are just excuses for couples go go out and clog up the streets and make it difficult to drive. Perhaps we should determine which holidays are worth keeping around. *hear hear*
