I know what you mean, I've thought about it plenty, cuz the Winchesters' treating Cas like shit has been a constant for a while now, and that's why it hurts so much, what they've done, because it makes sense in an ugly, twisted way - Cas breaking down like this was an inevitability!

But I don't think this is what the writers' were getting at, I find it hard to believe that they'd have the brains to plan or execute something like this, this whole storyline was clearly something someone shat out at the last minute. But I bet they must be all sitting and gloating and congratulating themsleves for being so clever, because somehow the Winchesters' horrible behaviour towards Cas, and how he silently took it, it all falls into place with this new plot twist. The truth actually is that they just didn't know what to do with Castiel, or how to treat him with respect. Everyone except Carver and Edlund undermined his importance to the boys and the show, and were happy with him being the errand boy or the butt of everyone's nasty jokes.

lolol! I bet they don't look into things as deeply as we do, consistency is something unheard of, on SPN, so it only amuses me that it all somehow makes sense. and it pisses me off too, cuz now they can say, oh you should have seen it coming, we have been dropping hints allll along!

Yeah, there is no denying what exactly turned Cas into this monster, it wasn't power or pride, it was hurt and betrayal. But it doesn't comfort me, the fact that it's so obvious, because THIS FUCKING SHOW WILL NEVER ADMIT IT, DEAN AND SAM WILL NEVER ADMIT IT, they'll never accept or ponder over how they mistreated Cas, how they could have stopped all of this, they are too hypocritical and self-absorbed for that.

It would mean a lot, (oh god don't let me think about it i will cry. i need it to happen so bad i cannot) but it won't happen. But honestly, if Dean doesn't angst over Cas even a little bit, if he hunts him without a hint of remorse, I will forever hate him!

Dean will angst. :) Because Sera wants to keep the Dean-Cas fans, who are satisfied with the tiniest sliver of aknowledgment. And Dean angsts beautifully, so this way she'll keep the Dean fans, too. But she won't change Cas back - Dean will angst and Cas will refute him.
