Craftiness

I'm almost done with the main body of a hat I'm working on. I had to adjust the measurements from a baby's hat to fit my own head, but I think I was a bit too generous. Thankfully it's 100% cotton, so let's see what a good soak in some hot water will do I'd rather have it a big big with room to shrink than just right and have it shrink down to Alex size.

I'm mourning the loss of my laptop and its accessibility, but I'm having a good time getting some minor housework in order, getting some knitting done, and playing my Civ game. It's a nice stress relief for me, and when I have my main chores for the day done and Alex is napping, I start up a campaign. Throw in a car with some morning play dates and activities for the kids, and I could get used to this staying home thing. *sigh* If only it were to be.

In other news: found an adorable pattern at JoAnn's the other day for $.99! Cute little baby layette with shirts and dresses, all of which can be made open in the back with only ties closing it. Perfect, I say. It's a vintage 50's pattern, and I must say they knew what they were doing when it came to kids' clothing. I'm tempted to make the dresses as well, so even if I don't have a girl one day, I can give them to someone who DOES.

Yeah, I think I'll be shopping this weekend at JoAnn's.
