Whoa. I saw the new Harry Potter tonight with Rob and Melissa. Damn. What a dark film. That's the darkest and most disturbing family fantasy film that I've ever seen. I don't know how people could ever really say that Empire Strikes Back or Episode III (or the LOTR movies) or Batman Bagins are too dark.
The new HP was dark but it was AWESOME. It was (in my opinion) as good as the first two HP films. Don't get me wrong though. Prisoner of Azkaban was good, It just wasn't on par with Goblet of Fire and the first two films.
Goblet of Fire was really great for the story and the special effects but it was also really cool because it made you think. It's rare to find films these days that can do that.
It really makes one think about the nature of friendship and how people can drift apart as time goes on.
(I'll elaborate on that a little later in another post. Now, I must sleep.)
