A girl like you should never look so blue

Hello there everybody. Here are things that have been going on with me, in no particular order.

-Been watching a lot of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Picard is totally my captain. The man has serious gravitas and clearly loves and respects his crew. Also I love Data. He is snarky but in a very subtle way, when he actually has emotions. I'm impressed when a writer and an actor can do so much with such a passive seeming character.

-Trying out for TA and research assistant positions. It might be a good way for me to pay for grad. school. Something resembling hope in that aspect of my life is springing forth. Don't know if anything will come of it, but it at least is more comforting than working in a windowless cafeteria another year.

-This is the week of diplomacy. One of the acting troupes help run has had me write letters of discipline. It's not my job, but I can word things exactly right to cause the least amount of offense and anger from the person being disciplined. So the person in charge of discipline came to me to get the letter written up. I also have to have an intervention with a friend tonight to find out why he has been lying and manipulating me and a few other friends. I have a feeling the talk will fall on deaf ears, but at least I tried. Jealousy does not justify lying to a friend and trying to get other friends to not hang out with them.
At times I wish I could use all this therapeutic talking as experience. At least I am helping people, which is a good feeling.

-Been practicing Lady Macbeth's "out damn spot" monologue/scene in the park. There is something fairly liberating about reading tragedy openly in the park under the sun. It is a wonderful contrast of dark and light.

-Seriously, why do people always view pleading insanity as better than the prison time? You know how long they can keep you in a mental institution? Til they say you are better! At least prison has a definite time!
