Jeff Daniels has a Myspace. www.myspace.com/jeffdaniels. It's actually him, he's promoting a CD he just made. Anyway, I added him and he accepted. I've since been leaving obnoxious comments and sent him this message:

Should you decide to have a show on PBS, that'd be a good name for it. It could be about scented candles...what works, what doesn't work...what's in seaon, what isn't... I myself usually stick to classic cinnamon apricot.
I pretty much just wanted to write you and tell you how much I enjoy your songs and your acting career. I saw Checking Out recently and thought you were just brilliant. Your timing and speed and comic intensity really blew me away. The whole feel of the movie is so weird and dreamy. I'm gonna say surreal even though i hate that word is rank.
Not to mention that Speed is actually one of my favorite films. Most people would put it in the "so bad it's good" category. I guess i would too, but I really enjoy it. Dennis Hopper cackling to himself, eating a sandwich with his crusty hand, talking to himself("INTERACTIVE TV, WAVE OF THE FUTURE HUH JACK?HAHA HUH?") Ortiz, the big hairy Gigantor and the not fully evolved neandrothol bus driver, Sam. All great characters, all great actors. But I haven't even gotten to you yet. Harry, the unfortunate hostage. I especially like how you're constantly sniffing throughout the movie. I have a still of you with your hand up in the air calling everyone in the office as you proclaim proudly, "That's our scumbag!" I'm thinking of framing it. My favorite line is when you're at the bar and take on a little bit more than you can handle and modestly mumble "I need a bib".
Well, when all is said and done, you are definatly one of my favorites and i really do look up to you. Keep on blowing me away, Mr. Daniels. Tomorrow I'm going to the Laemles on sunset and do a double feature Squid and the Whale and Goodnight and Goodluck. so, goodnight and goodluck.
