A old man walked along the beach,
Felt he had nothing left to teach.
His sons and daughters believed he was wrong anyway.
"Someday they'll see,"
"Maybe one day they'll listen to me."
"They'll finally realise they had it all in their hands."
He pleaded with them to let go of their hate,
To look to the trees and the sky and sing
that the world will change again someday, they'll see.
Yes they'll see.
Just find all the beauty, know all the colors, seek all the pleasures you may.
And one day I might die but I'll know I was right and the world may not remember me,
But I saw what I saw, and I loved all along, and I lived as if life were a game.
Please listen to me. You might think that the
Only thing that makes life worth living,
Is money or fame and a big house or a name
But when you're my age you'll know it's a lie.
All I had lived for
Was love and the beauty of being adored,
And the warm embrace of the sun.
And seeing all that I've seen, and doing all that I've done,
Please know this,
You must know this,
Do know this,
Never give up my son.
