GUYS. SKYFALL. I NEED TO FLAIL. HARD.
ok, so. I don't usually like the Bond movies. I saw the last two, simply for the pleasure of watching Daniel Craig in some very fine suits, but I'm not really an action movie fan, and the intricate plots sort of eluded me.
BUT. sarahyyy enthusiastically rec-ed Skyfall, and promised some adorable Ben Wishaw/Daniel Craig moments, so. Who could resist that?
I went to a matinee today, and OMG. I WANT TO GO AGAIN RIGHT NOW.
Daniel Craiiiiiiiiig how are you so gorgeous? there are about a million long shot of his whole body in amazingly tailored clothing, because apparently they know EXACTLY what that does to me. there's just something about his body shape that I find ridiculously sexy. he's got those long sleek legs and the broad shoulders and the trim hips and just mmmmmmm I'm getting carried away here.
But this time it was more than just the eye candy. Where the plots of the last two confused or bored me, this one was great, because it was personal, and because it involved something I actually know/care about: computers & hacking & cyber terrorism. A lot more interesting than poker.
and the action sequences! guuuuuh they were like rough, physical ballet, beautifully choreographed and just a thrill to watch.
And Judi Dench! she is one BAMF older lady and I love her to pieces. And Javier Bardem! Ok, I gotta ask: why does every movie insist on taking this gorgeous man, and making him ugly? WHY?! can't bad guys be gorgeous? Still, weird looks aside, he was great.
And, of course, most importantly, BEN WISHAW. GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYS. JUST, LOOK.
THE HAIR, THE GLASSES, THE CARDIGANS. Q is the most frigging adorable man, just, I can't. You know how I love nerds, but more than that he's just so competent and confident, and I find that so, so hot. guuuuuuuuuh.
so, basically, I NEED Q/BOND FIC LIKE BURNING. Someone write it for me. Or find it for me. IT MUST EXISTS, OR IT WILL SOON. Just think about it, even if you haven't seen the movie yet: a sexy older spy, and a cheeky young geek genius, it's like the stuff of my dreams. Q is sort of playful and teasing, and Bond keeps giving him these LOOKS, like he finds him terribly endearing. And of course, Bond is like the playboy to end all playboys, he knows all about seduction and technique. But I bet you Q could surprise him with some knowledge of his own. the internet is a brave new world, and all. I NEED IT, I NEED IT SO MUCH. I've already for thuri on board this ship, and she hasn't even seen the movie yet. Come join me, guys.
and one last thing, which is vaaaaaguely spoilery, [so it goes under a cut]
Ok, I'm not 100% sure I interpreted this right, but it seems that BOND SWINGS BOTH WAYS? or, at the very least, has experience with men.
There is a scene where the bad guy (Bardem), is blatantly hitting on Bond, stroking his neck and legs and making innuendos. And he says "I guess there's a first time for everything." And Bond smirks at him, and replies "What makes you think it's my first time?"(or something to that effect) HJFLKSHFJKSHFKHKFHSJK. maybe he was just playing coy, or referring to the larger situation, but damn. my mind went there in an instant, and it will never get out of that gutter. never. BISEXUAL BOND FTW.
Basically, it was the most fun I've had at a movie since the Avengers. I spent the whole movie on the edge of my seat, smiling like an idiot. Go see it for Daniel Craig. And Ben Wishaw. And all the other big names. And for the action sequences. And the gorgeous cinematography. Whatever. Just go see it, so we can flail together. Please?
