LOTS OF THINGS
man, I leave you guys alone for one day, and my f-list explodes. you are busy kids.
anyway, RANDOM THINGS TODAY:
1. thuri wrote this fantastic little x-men drabble for a meme prompt I gave her. it made me almost cry, then squee like mad. she knows how to manipulate my emotions too well. I'm lucky she only uses her powers for good.
2. another m/m book rec for you!
read this book tonight, and it was super cute and satisfying in that guilty pleasure sort of way. you can get the synopsis on Amazon, so I won't go into specifics.
but you know when you're reading a story and you want things to go a certain way SO badly? like, you think 'if I were writing this story...' But then usually they go another way and its frustrating? ok, maybe that's just me. but this is one of those rare stories where things went exactly how I wanted them to. which probably means it's cliche, and it certainly doesn't break any molds, but I'm thoroughly ok with that. the characters are cute, there's an adorably ugly cat, and lots of sweet fluffy fluff. it was satisfying and I squeed pretty hard, and felt happy at the end. that's all I really expect out of a romance novel.
it's only $4 on amazon. check it out if you have a rainy afternoon and need some fluff. it may not reinvent the wheel, but sometimes the wheel is perfectly fine the way it is for a reason.
(I am going to read something other than romance novels next week, I swear.)
3. I am leaving for a week's vacation this Saturday! WOOOOO! My whole family is going up to Stowe, Vermont. we have a time share up there, and I've gone up every year since I was born. it's my favorite place in the world, I look forward to this week all year.
my brother and sister can only stay until Tuesday (because they have jobs, which they never tire of reminding me I DON'T), but I'll be up all week with my parents, chilling out and enjoying some fresh air and cooler weather. oh, and lots of Austrian beer. it's so delicious.
SO, if you'd like a postcard from beautiful Vermont, pm me your address! who doesn't want cows and/or pretty mountains in the mail?
4. I am going to the dermatologist tomorrow :| ew.
