failosaurus rex
so I finished that knitting project I was complaining about last night, and it came out kind of disappointing. and huge.
so this is the T-Rex. he came out kinda weird and misshapen. the pattern was TERRIBLE. the directions were unclear, and there was not a single diagram to show you how to assemble the 10 or so different pieces. a lot of it was guess work and fiddling. and everything is worked flat, so there is SO MUCH SEAMING. he looks like frankenstein. I feel like something's just NOT RIGHT, but looking over the pattern I still can't figure out what, and it's driving me nuts. something if off, but what?
I also don't know why he's so GIGANTIC. the yarn I chose was a little over the specified gauge, but not THAT much. IT IS LITERALLY THE SIZE OF A SMALL CHILD. here's a size reference:

yeah, anyway, it did not come out as awesome as I was hoping. it held such promise, but alas. maybe someday I'll try it again in a smaller yarn and make some adjustments, but I'm too frustrated to think about it right now.
it was supposed to be for tourdefierce's birthday, but it's way too gigantic to ship, even if it came out better. I think I shall look for another pattern.
so I have named him Failosaurus, and he shall live on my bed and cuddle with my giant Pikachu.
my bed just reeks of sexy, I know.
in other news, thanks for the unexpected v-gifts today! it felt like my birthday or something, I was very confused, but also very happy.
also, I just started watching Weeds.
