Bush IS the president and it is because of the gay marriage issue. People who never voted before in the south feel so strongly about family values they came out and voted for Bush. I voted for Bush because I am pro-life. I was always a Democrat but now I vote the issues. Why don't the Democrats listen to their constituents? Then they won't lose!

All your rights as a woman are not flying out the window. You still have then all. Abortion kills babies and half of them are female. They may get their right to a life back.

i don't think it's proper to randomly post in people's journals without either introducing yourself or apologizing. especially when it involves such a fervent message.
but that's just my opinion.

I am a female open to life. I do nothing to prevent the conception of children. I made a promise to my spouse and to God when I was married to be open to life. I use no birth control. I love children ( ... )

I'm very glad to find out that you practice what you preach, and I in no way want you to think I disrespect your choices- I actually very much respect them since you are able to back yourself up ( ... )

I agree that children should be planned as best you can. There is a thing, church approved, called Natural Family Planning (NFP). It is NOT the rhythym method. It is based on cervical mucous and temperatures and it is 99% accurate when used correctly. The idea is to abstain during fertile periods. But you remain open to life. You put up no barrier. Mother Theresa taught poor women in India to use it and it worked for them. Also there is no risk of stroke or heart attack like in the pill. Some pills are abortifacient. They actually let you conceive and then don't give the fertilized egg a place to implant.
Sex is not only for pleasure. It is unitive AND procreative. It is only since Margaret Sanger came up with the idea that we can have sex without conception that that her idea has slowly been embraced. Margaret was into the eugenics movement by the way.

I am pro woman. I believe in women. I believe they are strong. I I believe in teens. I believe that if they had ALL the information, they would make great decisions!

NFP and the pill have the same effective rate by the way. Both are 99%.

I am aware the pill is only 99% effective.
Same debate on how things happen and nothing is going to be flawless.

Out of curiousity--how does gay marriage contradict "family values"? How is it against family values to allow two people who love one another to get married? In my opinion, making gay marriage illegal would be against family values, because it promotes classification of love, and it promotes hatred of those who have a certain kind of love.

Is the fact that you're pro-life the only reason that you voted for Bush, or are there other issues you've based your vote upon? That's not meant to sound catty, I'm really curious. Also, Democrats won't listen to constituents that have values that are more aligned with the Republican party, of course. The Democratic party is not going to become even more like the Republican party to hang on to a few voters while alienating even more.

I also feel as though all of my rights as a woman are flying out the window. Lack of abortions kills mothers, you know, and 100% of them are female. They may never get their rights back.

I voted for Bush because I am pro life. NO OTHER reason. I marched in protest to the Vietnam War in Boston. I used to be a Democrat. Now I remain undeclared. Thirty years ago abortion was a heinous crime so the Democrats didn't have it as a part of their platform.

I don't hate people with same sex attraction. I believe it exists and I believe it is painful to have this attraction and remain chaste. See Courage.com
