The shit hasn't even begun to hit the fan

Shocked at the way I'd been ordered out of his office, I hadn't even bothered to stopped to argue with Angel. Something peculiar was going on with him, and I had to admit my curiousity was piqued. I smiled as Wesley walked through the lab doors. He had a troubled look on his face a minute before so I knew his visit wasn't totally for pleasure. "Hello there," I leaned up and kissed his cheek gently. I walked over to where I'd been working and felt him at my back, "I was actually going to either call you or go get you."

"Angel led me to believe you requested my assistance in something?" I asked her curiously. Had she really needed my help in something, or was this just a ploy to get me to stop by the lab. Not that I was complaining in either circumstance.

I followed her further into the lab, awaiting explanation.

I even substituted a wooden bowl for the glass slides because I thought the missing ingredient was the natural element of wood, but even that was wrong. I've gone over this so many times that I'm not sure what I'm missing." I handed him the notebook, "I hoped a fresh pair of eyes, ones that knew what they were doing when it came to spells, would be able to see where I was going wrong."

I grinned at him, "And it's an added bonus that you happen to have a set of eyes that I'm looking for."

I glanced quickly over the paper, trying to make sense of the procedure Fred had been pouring over. But at the moment, I found myself far too distracted by more pressing matters that had nothing to do with Spike.

Frustrated I handed the book back to her.

"When was the last time you saw Charles?" I asked her curiously.
