Ethics Question For The Pagans
So I'm looking for some impute on this.
I have always been of the opinion that it is unethical to perform spells on/for another person without explicit permission. Even if it's in the person's best interest and with all good intentions. It's just wrong. My mother does not see it this way at all, and has repeatedly gone against my wishes "on my behalf". Here are a couple of examples.
For my wedding, I asked her to make poppets of my future husband and me. I was very specific when I told her that I did not want any fertility blessings included. At the time I didn't know if I was going to want children or not, and it's asking for trouble. Not only did she include an acorn, she added a second one that was two nuts in one shell. Like identical twins.
Just recently she went to witch camp where she and a group of her new friends performed a healing ritual for me. She said it was to help me get pregnant.
I'm really pissed, and she thinks I'm over reacting. What do you guys think?
