Poem (Battle Rap) for my Bed, the queen-sized place where i spend a third of my life - Surprise

Aug 15, 2007 00:29

I love you, my bed. We've been through hella lot.
You stood there motionless, as my senses felt shot.

You were always there, waiting,
while I was in school or wherever
You would never fail me,
Even though I've done things to you, looking back weren't so clever.

Remember the time, my cousin saw you?
Seeing him there, sleeping, made my jealousy set.
So as I tipped the tabo of water, on top of his head,
Satisfaction from prank aside, too late I found out, you'd get wet.

I'm sorry my dear bed, for all the wrongs I've done you.
Hopefully you understood, all the stuff I was going through.
So now I will leave you, for another place out there
Never fear, sweet bed, I'll keep returning, no matter the weather.

Ngunit huling paalaala, makinig, don't be a hater,
diba nga, sabi nila, "no goodbyes, only see you later?"

I really love my bed. Despite everything I have done, I can always count on it to accept me every night. It is perhaps the most faithful thing in relation to me, it doesn't judge you by how you look, how you smell, how you weigh. Sure, you've had a few drinks, but the bed will still accept you. It's only fitting that I give it the recognition it deserves.

On another note, people in general never cease to surprise me. It seems though that I am slow in learning this fact. I admit I sometimes find myself adhering to wrong stereotypes about people, but when I get to know them better, I always find myself wrong. Its such a pleasant feeling, being surprised. It leaves you with a sense that there is definitely a lot in life you have never figured out. (Is this a sign I'm definitely leaving my teenage years?) So, surprises, please do visit me, you are most welcome. Show me up. In ending, I now leave you all a question (damn, I need a name for this section, parang ala - Words of Wisdom, in the meantime I'll call it Concluding Whatnots)..

Ever surprised anyone recently? :o)
