Jim just got the call from his boss, he will have orders for when we get to TN.  Hopefully this means they will reimburse us for the hotel room, at least sun-tues. Thank goodness I decided to keep the sunday night reservations. We are planning to be out of here 4 AM tomorrow morning ( Read more... )

You sound like you really have a handle on this, Becky. If the hotel room is reimbursed this may turn into an expense paid vacation. (I dare to hope.) I'm one of those eternal optimists...you know the kind people want to toss old tomatoes at...the ever grinning idiot. I would rather hold tight to happy thoughts than to hang onto the negative in order to say, "I told you so!" I tend to prepare for the worst and then go play. It works for me. You sound as prepared as a person can get. Go play!

Take care. I'm doing my 'cleaning of the house', getting things off the floor doing major cleaning. I still don't know if we're leaving or not. My gut is saying it won't be as bad as the forecast. Nothing in that thought but my gut reaction. Nothing from anything I know about oceanography. It's just gut, and it's still early. My gut reaction to Katrina was "OMG We're doomed!" But that was Saturday morning before Katrina. So I'll know more tomorrow morning.

I'm just tired of fleeing. Having to drive all over the place after Katrina with a cat in tow has tired me out. Worse case, I do have a coworker further on the Northshore that says we can stay with them if we want. Cats and all.
