The Chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Intelligence Committee glared down from the dais angrily. "You understand, Agent Samson," he grumbled, "that Colonel Austin represents a significant investment on the part of the U.S. Government. His bionic parts are worth over..." He broke off and frowned at his notes. "That doesn't seem like much. Must be a typo. Anyway, the point is, he cost a LOT of money, and now he's gone missing. We have reason to believe that you know where he is. Now, in front of us and the American taxpaying public, where is he? I remind you that not only are you under oath, but also that this comittee does in fact fund your paycheck."
Brock shifted uncomfortably in his chair and blinked up at the congresspersons arrayed before him. "...Would you believe having gay buttsex with Bigfoot?"
"Agent Samson, I will NOT have you make a mockery of this hearing! This is a matter of the utmost importance, and..." The chairman began a long-winded, angry rant that Brock paid little attention to.
"Yeah, I thought not," Brock muttered under his breath. But he sat there and took it, because the guy was a congressman, and what else was he going to do? It wasn't long after that, though, that
a light on his wrist communicator -- the light that monitored the Venture brothers' vital signs, a light that should never ever start blinking -- started blinking. Either Hank had gotten artichoke dip inside his wrist communicator again, or... He didn't want to think about "or". "Or" was bad. "Or" meant lots of damage control, and lying to the government again.
"Aw, hell," he muttered. He stood up and started gathering his things. "Look, you, uh... you keep on yelling, there. I gotta go."
The rest of the members of the committee started murmuring among themselves, and the chairman turned red in the face. "Mister Samson, if you move another step, I will find you in contempt of Congress!!!"
"Yeah, well, does that mean you're gonna try to detain me?" Brock asked. "Because I don't think they'd like that." He pointed at the security guards by the door -- who would probably be the ones called on to try to do the actual detaining. They were terrified, and gesturing frantically at the congresspersons. "And I'd hate to get blood on your nice floor."
(NFI, NFB. This hearing never happened in canon -- it's just an excuse for Brock to be in town -- but the Six Million Dollar Man being on the run because he was in love with Bigfoot did.)
