It's been a while since my last post about my darling flower on DW/LJ, so I better make amends right here and now!

My birthday, the 27th September, is actually the same day as the anniversary of his debut in 2013! I almost feel honoured by the coincidence. My only regret is not meeting him much sooner. He is the best thing that has happened to me in a very long time.

So, last week it was his 9th anniversary and to celebrate the event he held an online live streaming concert two days prior on the 25th. The live broadcast reached 200 million viewers and fortunately, I was one of them because you could watch the concert live on Douyin even without an account (Douyin hates me and to this day won't let me create an account. Stupid error messages are stupid!).

I'm sure it doesn't need saying that the concert was nothing short of GLORIOUS!! It featured a live orchestra and a live choir and I don't know how many times I've already rewatched my favourite performances of that night. This post is probably going to be quite long, so I will only post three performances. But here on YouTube would be the whole concert with English subtitles.

It will never not be the greatest pleasure to see him perform.

Glimmer

A song that surely was made to be accompanied by an orchestra.

Jackdaw Boy

This is a bit more of a rock song but goes together with an orchestra just as well. His mannerisms come through in this performance, which I will never not lovelovelove...

Meet when Flowers Fall

This is the first time since his concerts last year that he performed this as of yet unreleased song and there couldn't have been a more perfect choice to end the concert than this song. The song is the second part, the second chapter called Hope, of the Healing Trilogy.

Drawing near to you

Listening to you

Trusting that you have not given up

Standing by you

Embracing you

Providing you with a purpose for your efforts

...

In a time yet to come you will encounter all things beautiful

Those countless serendipitous encounters

And the bloom and fade of a flower

These are worthy of treasuring

Even if we must part ways

In a time yet to come you will have a beautiful life

Appreciate that after every stumble you got back up again

During the online concert, as you can see, he was wearing his usual wig, so I thought I add pictures of what his hair really looks like right now. He dyed his hair an even lighter, silvery blond and straightened it out a little bit...and it looks gorgeous.

In contrast to his real hair and his usual wig, he wore a red wig at a Peace Elite Professional League event (video gaming event) in August. Also, THE ROSE on his collarbone was on display!

I told you it would going to be a long post because I want to put the following of his songs here too, although it might be a bit random as it has nothing to do with recent events.

Salt of the Earth

If I absolutely had to name a song of his that I adore the most, that impresses me the most, that I worship, I'd probably name this one. It's from 2015 if I'm not mistaken and included in his second album Aliens. I've already begged my favourite lyrics translators to put that song on their list. There are translations around but especially for the second half of the song the existing translations always sound a bit 'off' to me in English.

Though it is a good thing, and as a non-Chinese speaker I can tell, that his songs work even without knowing the lyrics. It's the whole composition, his voice, the emotions it all evokes.

If he had performed this song at his anniversary online concert with a live orchestra and a live choir I would have died the happiest death imaginable!

...
I wish more happiness upon the world
Even if pain tears at my heart
I wish to give my own eyes
In exchange for the colour of love
I wish to use my embrace
To warm all that is cold
I wish for happiness to come
Even if it is too heavy for me to bear
I wish to use my own smile
To mark joy
I wish to use my own tears
To mark moments of compassion
I wish to use the rest of my life
In exchange for stars shining in the night sky
I wish to open my arms
To give the world an embrace
I wish He would hear
I wish He would hear my heartbeat
No matter how insignificant

- Lyrics of the second half of the song taken from various sources, with added tweaks of my own. -
