I haven't made it in a while, and trying to find something new to try to make given the limited range of ingredients (and limited ability in reading Japanese) is pretty difficult.
Instead, I followed a recipe my parents found for me when I last went home, and tried it out.
I go by the school of "measure by taste", also known as "who cares about measurements". :P It's more fun that way, and I can also figure out what to add based on my preferences.
The meat was marinated in soy sauce, sugar, salt, sesame oil, cornflour and rice vinegar (oops! I wasn't supposed to put the vinegar or sesame oil in the marinade... oh well ^__^; ). Left to sit for a while, I chopped up the veggies - yummy sweet red and yellow capsicums, and a leftover cucumber - as well as a couple of cloves of garlic.
I fried up the garlic first, then cooked the meat on all sides before adding the veggies and the sauce, made from rice vinegar, sugar, salt, soy sauce, sesame oil, and corn starch. And that's it! :3 If anything, the meat was really soft, but well covered in sauce coz of the cornflour, but I think that it could be a lot tarter and sweeter... but that's for next time :)
Cooking is kinda fun, if it wasn't such a chore thinking about what to make :P
