Ahh... another Saturday, and what exactly have I done today: Psyc of Men and 19th Century Novel hw. Exciting time here, let me tell you! However a few others things have happened, I'll explain.
- the curse of Bernard lives on. I am convinced I will never own a vechicle that does not fuck with my head. Evidence a) decided to make cookies again [for Jill's bday and because Kate said that she loved the cookies and asked me to make a batch just for her. Done.] So this time, I decided to get smart about the deal. Hand mixer (instead of mixing dough BY hand), sifter for fine flour, and measuring instruments. So Wendy and I get ready, go out to car (who is still nameless, but I'm thinking something like Pain in my Ass or something to that extent) and of course... put key into ignition, "click, click, click". At this point I start cursing... thought god would strike me or start making me speak in tongues. So I call Papa and tell him the deal, diagnosis: dead battery. Mutha fucker, it's a new battery! But somehow i left something on... whatever, Lies I tell you! So I call Medina, because was a Sucker without jumper cables. Her and Josh come over... 20-30 minutes later, car starts up. Sweet... they leave, Wendy and I jump in, start to drive down the hill. At this point I was just imagining the car being on. When in fact, we were just coasting down the hill. What clued me in: the fact that I didn't hear the car... of course not! I'm still use to Bernard which vibrated and that was how you new he was on... instead because my steering was gone. Fuck shit! Grumbling at this point becomes louder and more irate. Wendy is scared and probably was doing a mantra. Some how what should have been a 2 minute drive turned into a 15 minute drive to the commuter parking lot. Call Papa again and tell him the deal.
Papa: You're car is in stupid mode
Me: Is that the technical term
Papa: Yes
Gotta love how he shuts me down even when I'm pissed. Anyway, I now know that cars go into stupid mode once the battery dies for liek 30-40 minutes and that was what happened in my case. Luckily, this was the end of my car problems (for the present time).
- Went to Dave and Busters. Much fun, I miss my zombies, but I fucking hate that bowling game. Damn! But now i have a nice shot glass to do my car bombs with.
- Maya Poran (one of my favorite professors) is offically accepted on to the tenure track. Rebecca and I are taking her out to celebrate next Sunday.
Ok, so my life is really pathetic. But I kind of like it this way. I don't have stories how I go out and get drunk all the time or about frat parties and such. This quiet existence... its the way its gonna stay. (Note to self: work on grammar.) But for now, it's time to get back to Giacoppe homework. Time to read Woolf again... hopefully this time I will enjoy her. Peace, and much <3.
