My ultrasound yesterday was maybe the single coolest thing I have ever witnessed. My baby is awesome! S/he had their ankles crossed, adorable. It was moving around so much too! It was crazy to see the baby movng so much, knowing it was inside me, and I couldn't feel a thing. But we saw 10 fingers, 10 toes, the spine, the brain, the heart... everything! And the ears! Ok, so no medical professional told me this, but when I look at the pictures we got I think our baby has really long legs! John has really long legs! Maybe now he'll believe the baby is his even though I got pregnant when he was out of town all month. The only sort of bad thing was that the baby wouldn't cooperate with the measuring the tech needed to do. Right now there's a section of fluid on the back of the babies neck. If the baby has any heart problems or chromosome problems, like Down's Syndrome, fluid will back up in the neck. So they measure that little area to check for problems. Our baby was moving too much and then it fell asleep in a bad position. The tech got one good measurement though, and there is a blood work portion. Plus I'm not in any high risk categories. We just did the test to get another ultrasound. So that's my really good update from yesterday! If you're wondering about the week count at the top, the baby measured a week ahead. They won't change my due date though unless it consistently measures ahead. Who actually is born on their due date though?
