When I turn on VH1 I better see this as The Worst Week Ever.

This is Part 1 of what I plan to be a 5 part Rant concerning Bush. Considering that I actually want people to read this and not pass over it because of length, my newly written Rant will come in parts throughout the night. Have fun kids.

Part 1-Women's rights: George Bush wants to make abortion illegal. This is no secret. What does this mean to our country? It means women's rights not being respected and being taken away. This is no longer a time when sex serves soley for procreation, this is a time when sex serves as recreation. Whatever your beliefs are about premarital sex, the bottom line is that people will not stop having sex, nor do they want to. Making abortion illegal will only result in more abandoned or dead babies in trash cans and alley ways because the pregnancy was unwanted. Although everyone knows the risks involved in having sex, unfortunately most people are not as responsible as we all should be. Even though an unwanted pregnancy is at no ones fault but the people who made it happen, there will still be infanticide and abandoned kids everywhere if abortion is abolished. On top of that, women will try to either give themselves abortion in desperation, or seek one illegally, from someone who may not be a professional/certified doctor. Obviously, this is harmful to the woman who can be killed in either situation. Making abortion illegal will NOT solve the "problem", which most of us don't even see as a problem in the first place. And if there is anyone who is going to be taking away a woman's personal right, it certainly will not be a man, who cannot possibly fathom what it might be like to be in a desperate situation. Another thing also: the media revolves around sex. "Sex sells"..we've all heard it. In music videos, in ads, on tv, in movies...practically everywhere you look, there are half naked women being dangled in front of our eyes for advertising purposes. I saw in ad in a magazine for an mp3 player. It was placed directly on a woman's chest, cleavage popping out, of course. There was absolutely no reason for it- it was an mp3 player, not an article of clothing, or anything relating to a woman's body(or a man's) whatsoever. Call me a feminist, call me whatever you want- but it sickens me seeing women constantly degraded and being regarded as meat, as objects for people to drool over. Mostly solely for men. You don't see men displayed in nearly the same way that women are. No matter what your gender, that is something you cannot deny. What messages does this send? Women are nothing but bodies used as marketing ploys. It's ok for everyone to stare at their naked bodies. It's ok for men to fantasize, it's ok for men to have urges and desires, its ok for men to have sex(both married and unmarried). Yet it isn't ok for women- if women have sex, they must face the consequences, often dire. They have no choice. Their only choice is abstinance- too bad they're being pressured constantly by the media to where skimpier clothes that show more skin and are sexier, as well as pressured by the male population(not all males, I understand that) to do the one thing their "country's morals" won't allow. This is what George Bush is promoting when he is promoting the abolishment of abortion...the abolishment of women's rights. He is degrading us even more than we are already being degraded. Another tid bit most people don't know(this is especially for you, girls): Bush passed an act several months ago that allows pharmacists to deny a woman any contraception perscription, emergency as well, if he/she does not believe in pre-marital sex or abortion. So next time you go to the pharmacy to get a re-fill of your birth control method, and the pharmacist says "nope, sorry, i don't think you should be having sex" you can thank George W Bush. Or the next time the condom breaks and you need the morning after pill, and the pharmacist says "nope, sorry" causing you to look elsewhere(knowing it only works up to 72 hours later) wasting precious time, you can thank George W Bush as well. Who the hell is he, or anyone else to decide what you can or cannot do regarding your sexual life and activities? He's our amazing President.

Well, ANYWAY- we had another bomb scare today so we were dismissed around 12. I went to Mike's to meet up with him, Jake, Val, Jesse, Tamara, Drew, Jeremy, Mandy, and Nadia and then we went to see Team America(minus Nadia). Now I'm home, being bored.

How exciting, yes.
