Holiday Edition, 2006
I've been living in Carleton Place for over a month now. After celebrating Christmas and New Years with my new "family", things have calmed down in terms of the home sickness! It hasn't been half bad at all. During the break from work, we volunteered at a food bank, a soup kitchen, and at the store I work at for the Interval House in town. We went rock climbing in Ottawa this week, I finally got to visit the Parliament buildings (so big and castle-y!), downtown Ottawa made me miss Toronto so much, and we randomly visited Quebec even though it's totally against excursion protocol - leaving the province is forbidden! I made a loaf of braided bread, but it was pretty tasteless. The health and sexuality workshop was tres cool and informative. And among other things ... after all of the travelling and stuffing thy face with chocolate from the Hershey Factory (had to rub it in), I have gained weight. It's a beautiful thing!
