OK. I'm home. Sore, but home. On top of the initial numbing, they had to give me shots of local anesthetic two more times through the procedure. All I know what that I heard an aweful lot of snipping and felt an aweful lot of tugging back there. He said it was gigantic, much bigger than he figured from before. (EEP!) I had a similar procedure done a few years ago, however, mine was on my neck just below my hairline and to the right of my spine. I agree that its fairly disconcerting when they have to administer multiple shots of anesthetic for a procedure that was supposed to take all of 15 minutes but has now stretched into more than a half an hour. I had the same issue that the cyst was much larger than expected once they got in there hence the added time.

My mother is also impervious to freezing and needs extra shots; when I received stitches in a finger once they had to give me two extra unexpected shots and I still ended up with the choice of another shot or to feel the last stitch be threaded through (I opted with feeling the stitch going in) - everyone's body is different. Nonetheless, good to hear it went well.
