Ok maybe it wasn't all day long. I spent a lot of time reading Deerskin (Robin Mckinley) one of three of hers I got from the library. Even though this one is in the 200 page range they used tiny type so I'm having to blaze my way through it. I still have one more to read before I take all three back to the library. I guess I could take each back individually but it seems like such a waste.
I cleaned the bathroom yesterday so that was one thing off my list. I HATE cleaning the bathroom. I'm not so uptight about the kitchen anymore since it pretty much needs cleaning all the time. I've decided when I grow up I'm going to hire someone to clean all the bathrooms in my house. That meant I just had the kitchen, dining, living and bedroom to take care of. The bedroom full of paper boxes I'd been going through for the past week. I worked hard and fast but I was left with one shoebox full of files full of papers. I know that doesn't sound like much but the files are actually standing upright in the shoebox not laying down. Yep lots of fun. Anyway I didn't get that last one done and its probably too much of a pain to drag it all out again. I did get to watch "The Secret of Roan Inish" which is a cute kids movie.
Anyway this long essay about cleaning is because we had guests for dinner. I really enjoy having people over to dinner. I'm not really hot on cooking things for people or even eating the dinner so much. Its really the conversation and games. We didn't have games last night but we had Keera around and she is as much fun. She is such a cute kid.
This is Princess Keera on her squishy throne with her throw blanket (Thanks Mom!) robes and her little princess crown. Which broke when she was wrastling with her Uncle Aaron. I don't know that I'm used to being called Auntie Hykel. I think Heidi and the girls will do that jokingly but they are the only ones who ever have. I still can't imagine my side of the family doing that. (Sitting trying to imagine) I guess that stems from being an Auntie at 9 and still getting new neices at 29. (Thanks Hollie!) Anyway Keera calls us Auntie Hykel and Uncle Aaron. Its ridiculously cute.
I keep thinking how different Aaron's family is from mine. Some of the differences I'm not excited about but most of them I just find interesting. Like they had 3 kids where we had 6. Our Moms are within a couple years of each other but my Mom has 12 (13 in December) Grandkids and Misty has 1.
The dinner turned out ok I think. Noodles, red sauce, corn, apples and garlic bread. It was fun to sit around our table and show it off. Afterward they got the grand tour of our one bedroom apartment then we sat around talking past Keera's bedtime. Its way too hard to go to sleep when its light outside. Especially now that it gets so warm.
Like last week the inside temperature and outside temperature both were around 70. Lovely!
The best part of today was when we sat at the computers after the girls left and Aaron starts singing in a thick russian accent this random song he made up.
Little bird little bird on my roof top.
Little bird little bird eating my new crops.
Hay! Little bird get away from my crops!
It reminds me of the new little baby songs Aaron makes up for every new little baby he holds.
