I love raspberries.
Not the blowing your mouth against someone's stomach kind of raspberry. The redish juicy kind. The mouth raspberry is never flattering by the way. Just like banana chairs. Banana chairs are never flattering. How can you possibly sit in a banana chair and not either A-rock over your fingers or B-sit with your legs spread eagle or C- sit with your knees up to your chin or D- all of the above.
Anyway I like raspberries. Who knew I would like them so much? I never have before. I've got a habit now where I get a whole case at Costco for like $10. A case is like 6 of those little plastic containers. I wash them and freeze them and I get a little treat whenever I like.
Today I had a little surprise in one of the plastic containers they come in. Take a look.
Of course I wasn't sure the hornet was dead at first. After it didn't come flying straight at my face to kill me I realized it was actually dead.
The first case I didn't wash but I've learned a thing or two since then. I just got a new case but hadn't put them into baggies to freeze so I just pulled some out to put with my almond granola and yogurt. I noticed one of them had a little green stem on it so I go to pull it off and it was a tiny little caterpillar. Since then I've found little things stuck in the middle of them. Leaves, stems, another caterpillar. You'd think these things were grown outside or something. Now I start to wonder what other things I've eaten unawares in that first case I didn't wash.
