Bleach: After 15 Years, Now The End is Near

Aug 05, 2016 12:25

After all the ups and downs in the past 15 years, Bleach finally enters the final chapter. The combined 36th/37th issue of Weekly Shounen announces that the last chapter will be published in the magazine's next issue that will ship on August 22. There's also important announcement for Bleach fans.

Kubo Tite started the final story arc in February 2012 but it took him four years to end Kurosaki Ichigo and his friends' adventure. Approximately a month ago Sasaki Hisashi, the former editor-in-chief of Weekly Shounen Jump and the current vice president for Global Shounen Jump at Viz, stated that Bleach will end in less than 10 weeks.

As an ex-fans, I'm both sad and happy. Sad because the epic is finally ending. Happy because I think the series has taken a toll on Kubo's health and time. Kubo has enjoyed fame and wealth from the franchise. But at the same time it makes him prolong the series that should've been ended few arcs ago.

Readers (including me) have grown tired to follow the story which gets less and less interesting. I've stopped reading after the arrancar kidnapped Orihime. Yes, it was like 50 volumes ago. I still think that Kubo should've ended Bleach after Ichigo saved Rukia from Aizen's evil plot.

Now that we all know the end is near, I might start re-reading all the books =)
