I just had a conversation with one of my TAs from class about fandom! Specifically, Torchwood and Who! And it was such a fun discussion! Slash was mentioned! And BBT! I AM SUCH A NERD.
But I learned something about fandom. Apparently, back in the 18th century, before peasants/villagers had things like running water or hygiene, they used to read Dickens novels (those who could read) and would jot down stories on paper (these people who worked 18 hr days!) with Dickens' characters but with their own plot. GUYS, ENGLAND PRACTICALLY GAVE BIRTH TO FANDOM.
Sometimes, I really love Brandeis. AHAHA.
(This beats the time two of my classmates came into my sci-fi class dressed as Dr. Horrible and Captain Hammer, respectively.)
