It's Been A While...
So... I am working an extra shift a week. I am almost a month late on rent. I am broke. I will be able to pay my rent and other bills come Friday though. Yay! The extra hours I have been working may get me up into the black and out of the red finally. One can hope. Hopefully by the end of next month, if not much sooner, I will be working my new shift. Come November I will be off this horribe insurance program too and have an extra $200 a month to spend. Not that I don't appreciate the $30 I have saved so far, but $2400 a year to save $30... That's not insurance. Its robbery.
I have gotten into a decent gaming group for Monday nights, mostly old cam players. That was well timed since my Thursday night group may be evaporating... Hate it when people evaporate. (Flashback to 1966 Batman movie science lesson: When you rehydrate evaporated people with hard water their molecules will be unstable and the slightest impact will make them disintegrate.) Fortunately this Monday night game ends about the time that I need to speed off to work.
Our ant problem is still here. They are horrible little creatures. If I could erase them from the face of the Earth I would, and the food chain would adapt. After all, life is adaptable, that is kind of the point of evolution anyway. I wonder if anteaters can eat things other than ants...
I recovered my amplifier from my mother's garage last week. She also gave me an electric guitar and if I go back she will give me an auto tuner thing and possibly some sort of instruction books on how to play it. I really would like to learn. I had tried this once before, about 5 years ago. I pawned the guitar for cash before I ever figured it out. I am sure that lessons with an instructor would be far better than from a book too. Anyone out there live in either San Antonio or Austin and capable of teaching guitar? Preferably for free or perhaps for meals or something else affordable like that?
Nothing else new to report. Life marches on slowly... I still haven't gotten around to going to Kinko's to print out my resume so that I can send it to a couple of PI companies and get my private investigator apprenticing hours out of the way. I haven't really got a good excuse for that either. I haven't finished building my desk in my room (which means my computer is still in the kitchen). I haven't saved anything towards fixing up my car (which needs AC, new stereo system, dents pounded out, new paint, new canvas top, a strip of chrome, new motors for the electric locks and windows and seat, and a new hubcap). Perhaps I should save for a new car? I havent read anyone's life journal in a few weeks. Sorry. I will be rectifying that tonight though. I can read LJs with my cellular phone (T Mobile Sidekick II). I can't comment on them because the phone wont support Java and certain HTML codes. I can email reminders to myself to comment on them later though. Like I will really get around to that...
