love letters and tiny paper hearts

there was once a shy boy who penned a little love letter to a shy girl he had loved for, well, ever since he set eyes on her. he was too shy to speak to her and she was too shy to look his way. he had written his little letter underneath the stars and when he had finished he folded it carefully until it fitted into his back pocket. he planned to give her his little letter that very morning. his letter was simple and very very short because he had no idea how to write love letters. no textbook ever taught him and there was nobody he could ask so he had sat underneath the elm tree fiddling with his pen for what seemed an hour but was only ten minutes before he wrote:

darling dear, i think i....
to the girl with the red ribbons in her hair,
i wish i could tell you how lovely you are to me.
i don't mean to frighten you, i fear i frighten myself more than you would could ever imagine. i think, the first moment i saw you i felt, the first moment i saw you i felt that there was only one girl that could ever mean as much to me as you.
in my heart, i think i love you.
(please don't be frightened of me)

yours truly,
edmund

there was once a shy girl who had folded tiny paper hearts with her nimble little fingers for a month or two or three or four. she had bottled up her love into one big giant jar that could only express how much she loved a shy boy with big brown eyes who always sat underneath the elm tree reading a thick book. sometimes she felt so afraid to look his way in case he noticed the creases in her skirt, or the smudges on her black shoes. she was so shy, so very shy but that very evening, she felt determined to finish her last heart and tie her big giant jar with a red ribbon and give it to her love the very next morning.

so that very morning, tiny paper hearts floated onto long lean fingers and crisp white paper was unwrapped by gentle little hands. and two love hearts weaved together.

i find it amazing how two people can come together, love is so beautiful.
