When I was little, I was fascinated by a picture in one of my many books on prehistoric life which showed early humans worshipping a bear skull. That's probably what made the scene of primitive religion in Neil Gaiman's American Gods stick in my mind, many years later.

Thoughtful and sometimes controversial furry website [adjective:species] has focused its lens on poetry over the last few weeks, culminating in a collection of poems from within the fandom. Some are animal poems, some are about being furry, and one of them is my 'Wolf Break', previously published here on LJ.
