Live Life Like

I live life like a fairy tale,
Not like the kind that you'd share with kids,
But the olden kind that would scare your kids.
Tuck away your shivering tail.
Things will all work out, I'm sure,
But getting there is a Viking's quest,
Sometimes, I lose the ones I love best,
A tempest with a wiggling lure.
My ends make it worth my time.
Or is it the other way around?
Am I better off lost than found?
A bitter like a ripening lime.
I live life like a fairy tale,
But the heroes aren't pure like the Charming Prince.
And the stories are stories that I've not told since,
Left alone like aging ale.
Things will all work out, I know,
And knowing makes it better to bear,
As things get worse, I'll cry without a care.
Waters, cycling, overflow.
Will my ends make it worth my time?
Or is it the other way around?
I'm better off lost than I am found.
A bitter like a ripening lime.
And maybe I'll go back some time,
And reminisce that the water was ne'er as clear,
And tell stories of how people were full of cheer,
And exaggerate the rhyme.
