California never rocked so hard

For all of you with YIM, I have no friends. Fill my buddy list!

So I got an e-mail from TCB concerts that said, "THE BRAVERY w/ Phantom Planet TONIGHT at Newby's!" Inside, it had a poster for The Bravery, and, like all the posters around, no mention of Phantom Planet.
I barely made it to that concert, but thank goodness I did.
I have to say, as a casual fan of Phantom Planet, I never expected to like them even more after their concert.
Phantom Planet had the most crowd-band interaction I've ever experienced. Beyond just talking to us like friends and telling us what a crowd we were, they took three or four requests from the audience, had the audience split into two groups and sing harmony with them, invited anyone who knew the lyrics to one song onto the stage to sing with them, and made up crowd-specific lyrics for fun.
They rocked hard, too. California never rocked so hard. That was my least favorite song, but after they rocked it out like they did, I totally love it now.
Not only that, but I also respect them even more as musicians. Their bass lines are so fucking sexy, and their lead guitarist can riff his balls off. Also, their great performers, which adds to the effect.
After the show, we talked to the bassist for a good while, and JJ had a bit of a bond with him, I think. They were cool to hang out with, and they let us take pictures and stuff. Good show, good songs, good people. That means they're awesome :D

The Bravery wasn't too bad, either. They had a nice, full sound and a sweet electronic element, but their progressions were a bit boring, and while they were very talented, I couldn't get into them like I did Phantom Planet.

In short, Badassery :D
