they took my mallory. she leaves in the morning, so tonight was my last chance to see her for who knows how long. im taking it really hard. we were both unsuccessfully holding back tears before she drove home. i just now got done crying on my mom's shoulder for a good long while with darby feeding me tissues. thank goodness i have them to comfort me at 2 am. our last few days together have been really nice though. we went to a chick flick, out to dinner, sat around and watched a lot of tv, ran errands, got pedicures. its all that which i am going to miss so much, and everything really. this has been a great summer, but it has really gone by fast. mallory and i each made little displays for each other for our rooms at college. she made me this awesome poster with pictures of us and words that describe our relationship. i love it! my mom helped me make a shadow box display with layered pictures of us. its decorated with hearts and i put two movie ticket stubs in it: one from the last movie we saw, and one from the first movie we saw together just the two of us before we were even dating in 2003. both projects turned out really well. she also gave me this adorable little stuffed husky made out of the softest material ever. this is going to be hard. i am going to miss her so much . . .
if its ok with you, im going to try to talk about some other things now to keep myself sane . . .
NEW CAR!
well, used car, but its new to me! last week my dad bought me a 2004 hyundai elantra. after all of his research, it proved to be the best car out there in the price range he was willing to spend. it was a fun experience. i test drove a white one, then the silver one and my dad made an offer on it. the dude said he couldnt lower the price to what my dad offered so we both stood up and my dad said we were passing. the guy said ok until he saw we were really leaving and then told us to wait while he checked with his boss one last time. he came back and said he could give us the white one (which was otherwise exactly the same except they must have paid less for it) for the price my dad offered for the silver one. my dad and i talked it over and i said i couldnt be as happy in the white one, and he understood. so we ended up paying what they were asking for the silver one after all. i love it! its an automatic (which is better for me in seattle with the hills) and is pretty loaded with features like ac and stuff. no cd player though, go figure. anyway, its exciting. i feel much more free having a car of my own. i know i will feel that way at school too.
SHORT SHORT HAIR
had to get my hair cut really short last week. its shorter than it has ever been, but i had to get it cut that short since it will be a while before i can come home and get it cut again. i guess i could get it cut up there. nah. looks good though. im even using a little "product" in it. it will be long in no time.
THUMBS UP FOR MASSAGES
so mallory's uncle used to be a professional massage therapist. she raves about him and said i had to try it out, so i did. it was awesome! not only did he give a killer massage that lasted almost 2 hours, but he told me that my lower back pain is coming from the positioning of my shoulders too far forward. he showed me a better way to stand and stretches i can do to help me with this. what a great experience.
so there is a whole bunch more going on, but im going to leave it here for tonight. im going camping on the oregon coast with my family tomorrow. it will be very nice, especially now right after mallory leaving. family is a good thing, thats for sure. before i sign off, i want to send a shout out to my grandpa who just got the internet and is hopefully able to get this! hey grandpa! ok, thats all for now. go daWgs!
