2 hours

Well, my first two hours of being homeless are almost done. It's pretty warm here in the library, and it's hard to type because my hands are so cold. I couldn't have my mittens on because we were making signs and putting them around campus. Colette and Emily already visited us and bought all of us hot chocolate, which was really nice of them. Not too good on my stomach though--I want to try to stick to water and stuff that's not too rich. We also got s'mores from Student Senate. They have a 24-hour thing going and are getting people to sign a petition for an open market for books. I signed it even though I don't have to pay for books til next year. Oh well. The people that are sleeping out with our class seem...okay, I guess. It's mostly people from an on-campus group called ASAP. They were all setting their boxes up before we did and they seemed a little too enthusiastic for me. It just upset me how they were practically trying to make their boxes like luxury homes. I have a little box community with Emily, Shannon, Mary, Natasha, and my box buddy, Briana. A couple of us claimed Nate and Brandon to sleep in our boxes with us so we can stay warm. The only thing that kinda stinks is that Briana has to get up way early for swim practice...like 5:30 AM early. Oh well. They are doing some filming for GAC TV and they filmed me with a sign that says "Just because you look away doesn't mean I'm not there".
I think sleeping outside will be really good for me. I've never really experienced anything like this before, and the lifestyle I've had my entire life hasn't really put me through anything like this. I know I'm really fortunate to have the family and standard of living I have now. I'm lucky I can still use the library/computers to keep in touch with my family-I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't really talk to anyone for 3 days and whatnot.
I don't really have my chem problem set or lab report done yet, but I'm not really thinking about that now. I e-mailed my chem prof to see if I can stop in after pre-calc and get some help. Stupid dipole moments and intermolecular forces.
Anyway, I have to do my reading for FTS (bright and early at 8am tomorrow) and then head back to the chapel. We'll see how my first night goes.
