Curl Up and Dye

Ender's Game is great. I'm halfway through, and already recommending it to strangers. The politics of children is fascinating; it kind of reminds me of this book by Margaret Atwood, "Cat's Eye". Extremely depressing, but reward comes in the form of painful, lucid honesty.

Got my hair cut today. It needed it. It had transformed from a mop of curls to a slightly longer-haired mop of the variety used in supermarket aisles. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure of how it's turned out this time. No more mop, hurrah, but there's something rather odd about the way it's quite shorn at the back and poofy at the front. It's blonder, too. I guess it's kind of cute.

Conversation with a coiffeuse is always interesting. I always seem to find myself agreeing with all kinds of vacuous rubbish. Today we discussed the difference between sociopaths and psychopaths, Hannibal Lector, Gerard Butler (yum), Sean Penn, gay marriage (engaging in a controversial debate when your hair is between scissor blades is not the definition of calm), and Napoleon makeup.

My sister just insulted me on facebook. Has anyone else been pressured into the terrible soul-sucking trap that is facebook? Now all I have to do is sit back and wait for my future employers to refuse to hire me on the basis that I was once labeled a "douchepig". Lovely.

Oh, and I LOVE SECRET DIARY OF A CALLGIRL. Billie Piper is awesome.
