Dean woke up, everything seemed normal enough except he didn't know where he was. This wasn't the hotel room he had gone to sleep in, and he was trying to think of what he had done last night. He grabbed his jacket and headed outside. That's when he knew where he was, the moment he saw Jaybird's diner. He was in Lawrence, Kansas. He shook his head just as he walked towards his Impala, that's when he heard the cocking of a gun.
"Don't touch my dad's car."
"What the h--"
Dean had turned, and his words failed him because there he was looking into the eyes of a younger him. The hell was this, and all he could think was Castiel had something to do with this one. He looked at the determined look on his younger counterpart's face.
"Sorry kid, thought it was mine. I got one just like it."
"You do? Dad said when I get older the car is mine."
"Bet he's teaching you to take good care of her."
"He is."
He could see his younger self studying him, and he knew he was a smart kid and it was going to click soon. He watched as realization dawned on the boy's face.
"You are me! Just...old."
"Hey, hey. I am not old."
"Are too!"
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Am-- Okay so not arguing with myself."
His younger self just snickered, and Dean raised a brow looking at him.
"Dude, I totally win. Awesome."
"You did not."
"I so did, by default."
Dean stared, okay that was the same line he used on Sam when they were kids, it always had logic them. Now he was torn between letting the logic Sammy always told him was wrong win, or dispute it. So Dean did what he would normally do.
"I'm older so I'm always right."
"Dude. Not fair."
Dean just smirked at his younger self, who shook his head.
"I can't wait to grow up. I'm so cool!"
"Damn right we are."
Next thing Dean knew he was waking back up again, in his original hotel room. That was odd, and he shook his head getting up Sam packing up the Impala. Somewhere little Dean was looking around pouting that his grown up self vanished.
