Elections are all well and good.. except for the reasons i outlined above. When the publics perception of what is going on, and who they should vote for has been swayed and corrupted, then the point of legitimate elections goes out the window.
And thats even IF they are conducted fairly and equitable, and not rigged or stolen.

You are very naive if you think that just 'voting for the other guy' will fix everything. And as i said, even if i vote for someone else, the majority won't, therefore i can't change the way my taxes are spent. Apart from the fact that, to get to a position of power where you CAN be elected in a western country, you have to be as corrupt as everyone else.

To actually get money to live in our society, you have to either A) Work for someone else, making them rich, or as you specified B) Start your own business.
Now, if i have no money, then i have to borrow that money from a bank, to start my own business.. which means indentured servitude to the bank for lending me the money to get started. Thus making them more rich. Don't get me started on the financial system...

And emigrating to a country in Africa or South America, is hardly as easy as 'stepping on a plane'..

Democracy might not be freedom, but it sure claims to be... left right and center are people claiming they are free, and the freest country in the world.. without realising the truth.

So Democracy is order and peace hey..
The Iraq war, the 'War on Terror' and the Patriot Act don't sound very peaceful to me..
And order, where the rule of Corporate profit is above and beyond the lives and importance of the people being governed.
And people are arrested for peacefully protesting said Order.

What kind of Governmental system is this????
You can't honestly tell me you think its right.
