Danny took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. He had been in the library researching for hours, going through every medical book he could. This case was so odd that even Hawkes was baffled, which was saying a lot since there wasn’t much the former M.E didn’t know. He rubbed his neck and stretched. Researching sucked. Now he knew why he left things like this to Stella or Lindsey. He felt strong fingers running through his hair and down to his shoulders. He smiled and turned around to face his lover. He took in the wonderful sight.
“Hello, Mac.”

He paused a few moments before speaking.
“Hey, Dane. God, I miss you. Things have not been the same since you and Aiden left us. I've got no one in my corner now. I need that person to talk to. I love Mac. You both know I do. But…I’m scared to get close. I can’t lose him. I already lost you two.”
Danny sighed and ran a hand down his face.
“I wish you were here right now. I don’t know what to do. I need your advice.”
“Danny…”
Danny stood up and turned around quickly. There she was. She looked exactly as she did when she died. He stood there in shock.
“Dana…”

He ran to the bathroom and desperately tried to wash all the blood away. He used his CSI training to get the blood off his hands and off his sink.
There was a knock at the door. Danny froze. This was it. They had tracked him down.
“Danny…”
It was worse. It was Mac. Danny slowly put down the towel and opened the door. Mac quickly looked him over.
“Hurry get your things packed. They haven’t figured out it was you. We can be out of here in only a few hours.”
