They decided to head to the play ground that day because one of the little sister’s of Collins’s prize student was playing in a soccer tournament. The student was so proud that Collins couldn’t say no. Not having watched a single game in his life, Collins dragged Angel with him.
They game was actually pretty exciting. Not to mention the kids just looked so cute in their uniforms. They game had come down to a field goal, kicked by the student’s sister. When she kicked, she totally missed the net and managed to nail Collins right in the face. Turing to Angel hopefully for some support, Collins found Angel laughing.
From that day on, you could still get Collins to duck by only mentioning the word ‘soccer.’

They had been sitting on the counter for over a week before Collins started to notice the change in color. The green in them was starting to change. It was turning yellow and even brow in some parts. Angel insisted on keeping this plant, although neither one of them really had a green thumb. They would just pick the deal leaves off so the new ones would grow in their place. But now…the plant looked different. Maybe he could go out and get Angel a new plant before he got home. He was starting to think of what to bring home when they phone rang. It was Angel. He had to go to the hospital.

It was sort of a tradition for them in the mornings. They would wake up and go to the roof of the building and watch the sun come up. It was a moment frozen in time. It was time that no one could touch them. It was their own little piece of heaven.
The first morning after Angel died, Collins continued the tradition. He sat on the roof and watched the sun come up. But something was missing. Someone was missing. This wasn’t heaven anymore. It was a painful reminder of what he didn’t have anymore. He sighed and went back into the building. Heaven wasn’t the same with his Angel.

They went to the beach that day. Since it was close to winter the beach wasn’t crowded, which was how they wanted it. They curled up under a blanket and just watched. They watched as the few remaining birds dive into the ocean to get their dinner. They watched as the few remaining stragglers walk along the beach, collecting sea shells and whatnot. They sat back at watched as the sunset, turning the sky beautiful shades of orange, red, and pink. They packed up their things and made their way back to the city, happy that they had the chance to have their little getaway.

The moment he stepped in front of the apartment his eyes started to water. He had left work early so he could get ready for their date tonight. Whatever perfume Angel was wearing, it was way too much. He unlocked the door and closed his eyes as the smell became overwhelming. He wiped his eyes with his shirt as he stepped into the room. He could hear Angel walking around in heals getting ready.
“Baby did you bathe in the perfume you are wearing?”
“What do you mean honey?”
“You can smell it all the way out in the hallway.”
“Oh I’m sorry love. I guess I got carried away.”
“I would say so. Let me get changed then we can go out.”
“Wait…you don’t want me to change?”
Collins smiled at Angel as he went to change.
“Not at all.”
