still awake and feeling o.k.
my interview went better than i expected. it was only scheduled for 30 minutes but we talked for an hour and a half. the next appointment had to wait 15 minutes. i knew i had the job walking out of there, but i still had to wait to find out for sure. i'm excited. the neighborhood isn't nearly as bad as i thought. i've seen worse. matter of fact, parts of Spain are down right scary compared to this area, although i wouldn't want to spend any amount of time hanging around after hours. all-in-all i have a good vibe.
oh, my class schedule ROCKS! I have one 7th grade language arts class and one 8th grade language arts class... a planning period... and a small tutoring session with 5-6 kids, and i get to do it with another teacher!! how great is that?
i feel very effecient today. i bought my handy-dandy oxford english dictionary and thesarus, finished my syllabus, classroom organization outline, all my student-parent information forms... and i haven't even started orientation yet! I still have another week before pre-planning.
