While doing my after Christmas shopping, I spotted a Betty Crocker all-in-one cupcake kit that was on sale for $1.50. It came with everything needed (aside from eggs and vegetable oil) to make and decorate holiday cupcakes. It was exciting. Yesterday I finally got around to making them. The instructions were easy to understand, complete with illustrations, and the cupcakes were yummy. So after my successful attempt at baking, I decided that making food was fun. I went to the market and bought an angel food cake pan and some mix, thinking of my grandpa who LOVES angel food cake. He was so excited when I told him I was going to bake him one. Infact, he's at the market right now, buying orange sherbert to go along with it.
Well, 15 minutes into the baking process, the kitchen started to wreak. The box instructed me to leave the cake in the oven for 35-40 minutes, so I didn't start to worry about anything until I opened the oven door and saw that my cake was black. There went my new hobby! I guess I'll stick to boiling water for my Ramen noodles for now :P
2002 passed so quickly, didn't it? It did for me. Last year I made the following resolutions: quit smoking, pay off my credit cards, get a full-time job, move out, start working out regularly again, and work on my patience. Well, the working out went out the window, as did moving out and getting a full-time job. I did quit smoking, although it took me awhile. I haven't smoked in at least 6 months, maybe longer. I do get tempted to smoke a cigarette every now and then, so I hope that I don't crack anytime soon (or ever). I also managed to pay off 3 credit cards, but I have 3 more to go. As far as the patience goes - ha. I did make an honest effort for awhile, but I think it's worse now than it was last year. I get mad so easily, it's crazy. So, onto my resolutions for 2003.
- START WORKING OUT AGAIN! And lose all the weight I've gained! Grr.
- Start cooking for myself, since it's obvious that I can't depend on my mother for healthy meals, heh.
- Spend more time with my grandpa and make sure he's happy.
- Move out. And I'm for real this time. I don't want to be here at this time next year. And I know I'm capable of being on my own now (assuming that I have a job).
- Continue to pay off my credit cards and start saving money.
- Finally, I just want to be happy. I don't know what needs to be changed yet, but something definitely does, and I need to find out what that something is.
Have a safe and happy New Year! And be good! ;) I'll be looking forward to reading
your updates when I return! :)
Congrats!
