A/n; Hi hello! The sudden urge to finish this succeeded today, and I’m glad. I was hoping to post another one before the year ends.

Tiffany never liked waiting, she was organized and took the prospect of punctuality very seriously. On that note, her girlfriend had always been on time, if not early, and never liked being late or keeping anyone waiting.
Yet, as Tiffany took a quick glance to her watch, couldn’t help but take a deep, calming, breath. When she texted Taeyeon that she was on her way to pick her up half an hour ago, she had expected the latter to be all ready for their date when she arrived 10 minutes ago.
They should probably leave soon but Tiffany stayed calm, watching as her girlfriend rush around the apartment, still getting ready. Taeyeon seemed a little different lately, and Tiffany didn’t like that it wasn’t even the good kind of different.
She remained standing, leaning back against the sofa’s armrest and not bothering to take off her jacket as she watched Taeyeon run her hand through her damp hair, messing it up a little- frowning deeply at her reflection in the full length mirror by the wall in the living room. She watched as Taeyeon bit her lower lip as though a thousand thoughts were clouding her judgement, and noted how her eyes had been dim lately, tired, and no longer the sparkling ones she was familiar with.
The girl had gone to change her outfit twice since Tiffany’s been there, each time in clothes that looked less and less the kind she would usually wear. She was now wearing a sun dress, and she looked amazing, of course, but it was so unlike Taeyeon to wear a dress without any special occasion, and certainly not Taeyeon to take this long for a movie date.
Tiffany had a hunch about why Taeyeon was acting different but she couldn’t understand why the latter was so greatly affected by it. Their friends, recently, had made a joke -once over dinner together - that they couldn’t understand how Taeyeon had managed to get Tiffany to be her girlfriend. They teased the girl, saying that with how she was, they thought Tiffany was completely out her league, and that Tiffany must be blinded by love.
It was a joke; they laughed, Tiffany had found it silly and even Taeyeon chuckled along, shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly. It was meant as a joke, she was sure their friends hadn’t meant it but it seemed to have affected the girl more than she had let on.
After the said dinner, Taeyeon started to fuss over what to wear- if she should do her make up, and if she was underdressed; she started to worry about looking ‘good enough’. Tiffany had caught her looking at her own reflection every once in a while, with worry in her eyes, but Tiffany couldn’t understand.
Taeyeon was, for lack of better word, absolutely enchanting. She had the sweetest smile, a silly laugh, and eyes Tiffany could only compare to the stars. She was beautiful. There shouldn’t even have been a single doubt in her mind that she wasn’t, and honestly, Tiffany was a little surprised that Taeyeon hadn’t known that herself.
“Nope,” Taeyeon muttered outloud to herself, shaking her head, as she looked at her reflection.
She looked almost upset with herself that it was startling and extremely unsettling for Tiffany. Shoulders slumped, Taeyeon moved to walk past her, heading to the bedroom to change.
Again.
“Sorry, babe, I’ll just take another min-.”
Tiffany grabbed her arm, pulling her close to her chest and cutting her sentence short. She sighed lightly before giving her surprised girlfriend a warm smile.
This, whatever it was, had to stop. She hated how Taeyeon looked at herself, and she wanted it to stop. A few weeks had been enough, and Tiffany felt guilty for even letting it go that long without saying anything.
Brushing Taeyeon’s hair out of the face she absolutely adored, Tiffany had to smile a little more when the corners of Taeyeon’s lips lifted at her actions. Wrapping her arms around Taeyeon’s waist, Tiffany leaned in to kiss her softly, feeling the girl relax in her arms.
“Listen,” Tiffany started as she pulled away a little, tilting her head to search her eyes. The insecurities, self consciousness, and uncertainties; Tiffany wished she had brought it up earlier.
She wondered how she should address the issue. She needed to tread lightly because it seemed to be a rather sensitive issue for Taeyeon, but she wanted Taeyeon to know how she felt about the matter and she wasn’t about to beat around the bush.
“You look wonderful, no matter what you wear, and you don’t see yourself in my eyes but I think you’re beautiful, all the time, ” she told her softly, and her heart swelled fondly when it made Taeyeon smile to hear that- a light blush creeping into the latter’s cheeks.
Tiffany was relieved because she could visibly notice the worry fade from her girlfriend’s brown eyes.
She wished she had said it more after seeing how much weight her words had over the girl, because maybe if she had reminded her every once in a while- told her how beautiful she looked more often, how she felt about her, then Taeyeon would have felt more confident being with her.
“I love you,” Tiffany told her, giving her forehead a soft kiss. “That won’t ever change, but as for you, please go and change quickly into something comfortable because I know you hate wearing dresses and I want you to be as comfortable as can be when we’re cuddling in the cinema.”
Her girlfriend’s dimpled smile appeared as she nodded. Kissing Tiffany’s cheek briefly, Taeyeon pulled away and left her in the living room. Seeing the girl’s light steps made Tiffany shake her head and laugh softly.
Pondering about how easy that went, she realised her actions must have been clear about how she felt, but her words had given Taeyeon the assurance. She should have told her more, and she would. Making a mental note, she promised to herself that she wouldn’t let Taeyeon feel so little about herself anymore.
Waiting for the bedroom door to close,Tiffany tentatively patted the inner pocket of her jacket. Feeling the outline of the set of keys, she nodded reassuringly to herself. They were the keys to her apartment, and until they found a new place or decided which apartment was better, she wanted Taeyeon to know she could come to her place any time she wanted.
Their friends’ joke might have came in an inconvenient timing because Tiffany had been toying with an idea for a while now. They were to go to the movies, get some ice cream after, and they would take a walk by the river nearby. Taeyeon loved walks by the river; it was their thing. Something about being by the water, holding Tiffany’s hand and being with her, made her happy, calm, Taeyeon had said- multiple times.
There, Tiffany wanted to talk to her. By the river, Tiffany would hold her hand, and asked her if she wanted to move in with her. She had been planning to for a few months now, thinking, and re-thinking because it was a huge step for the both of them- a big change in their relationship. They had only briefly touched on the subject before, and Tiffany was sure Taeyeon’s been dropping subtle hints. She felt that they were ready for the next chapter of their relationship.
“Hey, I’m done. Let’s go?”
Tiffany looked up and smiled. Taeyeon looked like her Taeyeon with an oversized hoodie, skinny jeans and her hair ruffled to the side just the right way. Her lips shone with just a hint of -what Tiffany was sure was- strawberry lipbalm. She gave the girl an appraising look, this was the girl she fell in love with- and still in love with.
Taeyeon raised her eyebrows in question when Tiffany hadn’t replied, and held her hand out, waiting. Tiffany could only shake her head, still smiling, and moved to hold her hand- feeling the set of keys bump lightly against her ribs with her movements.
Tiffany had always been a little indecisive, but she followed her heart like compass through life, and she hadn’t had any regrets. That being said, there were a lot of things that made her hesitant. Falling for Taeyeon wasn’t anything that she planned, but it wasn’t anything she hadn’t wanted.
As Taeyeon led the way out of the apartment, putting their hands into the pocket of her hoodie, Tiffany adored every little moment with her- just like that. Tiffany might be indecisive, but if there was one thing she was certain of, it would be that she wanted to be with her for a long time.
Of course, there were many things that she had to take into consideration. After all, living with someone would always be an adjustment, a change that both of them would need to work out. It seemed doable, and the more she thought about it, thought about being with her from the moment she woke up, to the second she would go to bed, that sealed the deal. She couldn’t wait, she wanted that.
So sure, maybe this was just a small step in the right direction, and it had only been a little less than two years, she didn’t want to rush it either, but she knew, she was in this for the long run. This girl was her ride or die.
Tonight, she would tell her that.
