The Whole Thing About Love

May 04, 2014 20:34

A/N: I'm back, again. Surprised? Me too.

--------

The whole thing about love intrigues her. Not love, as in friends, or love, as in family. Not even love, like the kind she has for music. It’s the love for another that would mean the whole world to someone- that kind of love intrigues her.

At 26, Taeyeon has dated and loved, and hurt. She’s not regretful any of those ended, neither is she afraid to love again, because she’s seen love as she walks down the streets and hears love in the music blaring through her headphones, and she wants that. The love she’s had that ended probably isn’t the one for her and she accepts that; she understands that. After all, it has lead her to someone she plans to keep around for a long time.

She walks towards the familiar apartment complex and sees couples holding hands, varying of ages; the puppy love of youths in school uniforms, the blossoming love of the matured spending a little time together before work, and the eternal love of the wise with staggering, slow steps. The doorman recognizes her and gives her a fatherly smile, then, she notices love in the form of an object, wrapping snugly around his ring finger as he opens the door for her. She pats him on the arm and grins in return.

She wonders often, as she sings along under her breath while waiting for the elevator, if love is made to engulf a person whole. If it’s supposed to overwhelm a heart the way the media portrays it in movies, books and music. Even fairytales made love seem magical, in every sense of the word. She steps into the elevator, pressing on the designated level button and sees her reflection on the doors as it closes shut.

Taeyeon wonders if any of it really makes sense because she doesn’t think something should be that powerful, or have that much control. It shouldn’t but as she stares into the eyes of her own reflection, she sees one thing that hasn’t been there in her past. She sees another person reflected in her eyes; she sees her. Then, maybe love is that powerful and maybe, she has completely lost her mind in it this time.

Her friends notice, too, how this time, love has her completely captivated. Be careful, they would remind her. Be careful, she tells her heart. Cautious, she has been, but she had only realized how smitten she was when she had seen tears that weren’t her own on one gloomy day and all she wanted was to take it away. Taeyeon had felt pain, heartbreak, when she wasn’t even the one crying. She had realized it as the tears only stopped when she had held her close, and by the way her heart had sang only when she had seen her smile again genuinely, albeit weakly. She had realized it, then, that she had love right in her arms and unlike the other times, she found herself completely submerged in it this time.

The elevator stops, and she steps out. Taeyeon walks along the empty corridor towards the door right at the end. She unlocks it, and enters the apartment like it’s her own, like she has done countless times before during nights she couldn’t sleep or simply because she had missed her. Trust, she finds, is a powerful thing too. The trust for complete access to her home, the one given for her to be there when she needs her to, and most importantly, the trust she’s been given to all of her heart.

She takes off her headphones, switching her player off before setting them down on the kitchen counter, along with her phone and purse. She shrugs off her jacket and throws it on the couch, making a beeline towards the bedroom. She stops at the open doorway, taking in the sight of the beauty sleeping in on an off day. Taeyeon doesn’t know how, but she has fallen completely in love with the most amazing girl. Taeyeon is fully aware of her flaws and her habits. She knows that the girl is just as aware of Taeyeon’s as well. Yet, just like every love story known to man, love is also about acceptance as much as it is about understanding.

The said girl shifts, bringing her back from her thoughts and Taeyeon finds herself staring at the girl who has her completely enchanted. She finds herself staring at love.

Taeyeon doesn’t think twice before approaching the bed and lying down beside her. Turning to face her, she gently pulls the girl into her arms.

She feels her stirring briefly. “Taeyeon?”

She smiles, always loving the way she says her name. “Tiffany,” she calls back jokingly.

As if their proximity isn’t enough for the girl, she feels Tiffany push her to lie on her back and relents, letting the girl climb over her to literally cling onto her. Tiffany has her arms hooked securely around Taeyeon’s back, her hands gripping onto her shoulders like a physical lock. She feels safe -like she always does - every time Tiffany holds her. Taeyeon grins at the possessive hold, not minding the weight pressing her down firmly against the mattress. She wraps her own arms around the girl as Tiffany buries her face against her neck.

A huff and Taeyeon feels the back of her t-shirt collar being tugged down a little as nails grazed her skin tenderly. “Did I forget we had a date today?” Tiffany murmurs.

She chuckles, rubbing the sleepy girl’s back gently. “No,” she replies. “I just wanted to see you.”

She feels a soft kiss on her neck and her heart swells with so much fondness, it made her dizzy. It doesn’t take long before Tiffany’s breathing slows down and her hold loosens. She lets a hand slip under the girl’s shirt, resting her palm on her hip. She would move her off for better comfort but she didn’t want to. Taeyeon feels love exude from every part of her, and the need to feel closer is overwhelming as she runs her palm over the smooth skin. As though Tiffany had understood, she tightens her hold on Taeyeon again and nuzzles even more into her neck. Maybe she did understand, Taeyeon figures, as Tiffany lazily gives another kiss on her neck again before letting out a contented sigh.

Taeyeon finds that love can be a funny thing because she’s holding love in her arms so close their hearts might as well beat as one, and yet, it still manages to make her crave for more. Tiffany’s the closest thing to forever she has ever had and Taeyeon sighs longingly at the thought, thinking how she’d fight for that. She would fight for forever. Somehow, her sigh attracts the attention of the girl barely conscious because Tiffany shifts a little.

“Do you need me now?” Tiffany asks and Taeyeon wonders if she realizes how random -yet coincidental- that sounds even though the girl probably meant if Taeyeon needed her to get up.

‘I need you to stay with me forever,’ she had wanted to say but decides otherwise.

“Nope, it’s okay. Sleep,” she answers instead, aware of the smile on her face when Tiffany hums a short reply, probably already dozing off. “You’re right where I need you to be.”

Okay, hi lol. Here's the story cut short. I totally underestimated what writing means to me, and what I like writing about. So I got a rude reawakening by myself, got sucker punched by inspiration (really hard), and I decided I love to write and I want to write anything & everything I want. So here I am, still writing romantic-taeny till further notice. :)

There's no such thing as an end for us. Like this, again. I can't forget you.
I'm writing a story that will never end in my heart. Fiction in fiction, fiction. /plays Beast's Fiction in the background LOL/

Also, thank you for all who helped recommend love songs to me. I think you get why now. :D
