Here, we go. Had a week long break two weeks ago(?) and refused to end it without writing something so I had this written on the last night of my leave LOL. After editing and news and what not, here it is, finally. I think..think..think.. it's okay? :)
My last, romantically-involved Taeny. :') Apparently not. LOL.
------------
Tiffany lost faith in love when she got her heart broken for the 3rd time in her life. The last one really left her in pieces because she had been dumped before, but never for another person. Well, at least the previous ones didn’t let her know. She had given them all of her heart each time, thinking maybe they were her person, but they had all proven her wrong.
Girls or guys, she had dated both. She wasn’t picky on gender, love was love but ‘love’ always broke her and truthfully, she had gotten a little scared of it. For months after the last heartbreak, she turned down every approach and confession. She was wary, and admittedly still broken. It was only the 9th month after the bad break up, did someone come along and made her reconsider love, again.
It was a girl, with soft black hair and bangs that framed her honest bright eyes and small smile perfectly. The girl was a little shy, and definitely scared, as she introduced herself as ‘Taeyeon’. Tiffany remembered thinking it was a beautiful name for someone who looked just as beautiful with flawless fair skin and petite structure. Taeyeon had asked if she could join her on her bench at the park and Tiffany knew then, as she had studied the nervousness and pink cheeks, that friendship wasn’t what Taeyeon was initiating. Usually, Tiffany would have refused but the sight of the other girl looking down dejectedly when she took a moment to consider, had made her heart a little less wary somehow. The fact that she had taken time to consider at all, Tiffany knew it was time to move on. She was ready.
It had proven to be a good decision because 4 months forward, her heart healed nicely and they called it official. 3 months into the relationship, Tiffany was still wary, but the ways Taeyeon was proving herself to be different and how she was doing it unconsciously was amazing. Taeyeon was different and Tiffany started to reconsider believing a little in love, again.
-------
She watched with a smile as the girl threw her head back in laughter. Tiffany had been told a lot that she wasn’t funny by the people around her. Particularly, her last ex had told her that too, countless of times. Then, there was Taeyeon, who laughed the hardest at a lot of her jokes, and it made her feel good.
Taeyeon took a moment to stop laughing. She straightened up in her seat, taking a few deep breaths between her sniggers and wiped her teary eyes. She sighed contently, “Man, you’re funny.”
Tiffany tilted her head. It caught her off guard. She had never heard that before. “I am?”
Taeyeon chuckled lightly. They heard their names being called by the barista behind the counter and the girl stood up. She walked to Tiffany and stopped abruptly, briefly, next to her. Sneaking a quick kiss on her head, and a soft stroke of her hair, she said, “Yes, you are.”
Tiffany had lost faith in love more than a year ago. She had been scared but as she watched Taeyeon pick up their drinks and make her way back to the table, everything else seemed to blur out and all she saw was her. Taeyeon took her seat again and took care of everything for Tiffany, taking out the straw out of the wrapping, putting it in the drink before placing it in front of her. Only then, she did the same for her own. Taeyeon always seemed to put her first, even in the smallest ways, and as Tiffany felt the familiar flutters in her heart, she knew it had begun again. Love, was starting again.
It had only 3 months since they’ve made it official and it was a little fast for her to admit it despite the extra 4 months of getting to know each other. To top it off like the icing on a cake, she was absolutely terrified.
They spent the date in the simplest of ways that day, ending it off with Taeyeon driving her home and walking her up to her apartment. She had been constantly a little occupied with her thoughts, evaluating and weighing the risks but when Taeyeon kissed her goodnight and mumbled softly against her lips that she loved her, everything didn’t seem to matter. Her mind went completely blank and she realized it hadn’t come much as a surprise because she had always felt loved whenever Taeyeon was around.
Tiffany turned her face away and noticed Taeyeon tensing at her actions before pulling the latter into a hug. The girl relaxed almost immediately and reciprocated the hug with arms around her waist. It had begun again and even though she felt fear that shook her heart, she couldn’t help but bury her face against Taeyeon’s neck and mumble that she loved her too.
Taeyeon chuckled softly, tightening her arms comfortably around her and Tiffany felt all the fear gradually decrease. She felt so safe and warm, and she didn’t remember ever feeling that way - that much - with anyone before.
Tiffany had thought that her exes had been her person, but somehow, now, she knew she had never been more wrong. Deep in her heart, she knew that love had begun again, like no other and so much more. She would give as much as she knew she would receive. She would love, again.
--------------
Taeyeon was yelling and so she yelled back. Everything was loud, chaotic, with both of them yelling at each other and the television blaring some Swift girl song. Taeyeon must have reached her peak because she stomped to the couch, grabbed the remote and switched the television off before half-throwing the remote onto the couch. Her back was facing Tiffany and she watched her breathe as heavily as she was. It was admittedly the biggest fight they’ve had in their 11th month together.
Jealousy, Tiffany found, was an ugly thing. It made people irrational and upset. It made her patient, loving, Taeyeon very angry and extremely unreasonable. She didn’t like it because with Taeyeon like that, it made her angry and unreasonable too. When Taeyeon finally turned around again, her breathing had slowed and when their eyes met again, Tiffany felt all her irritation melt away in an instant. The defeat and sadness in the girl’s eyes were suffocating and Tiffany just didn’t know what to say.
The sudden silence that followed was the heaviest she had experienced with Taeyeon and she didn’t really know what to do. Taeyeon stared, and stared, and Tiffany only made a move to go closer when the latter looked away.
Taeyeon was feeling sorry, that she could see, but there was that other thing she couldn’t comprehend. She stopped only when she was in Taeyeon’s personal space and reached out to turn the latter’s head to face her again. Taeyeon reluctantly met her eyes, and with their current proximity, Tiffany finally saw and recognized what that other thing was.
Fear. Fear was a terrifying thing, and Tiffany knew all about it. Tiffany knew fear like an old friend. Like how she feared the dark when she was 4, or how she feared loss when she was 15 and her mom had gotten terribly sick, or even the way she feared getting her heart broken just over a year ago. So when Tiffany saw the fear in Taeyeon’s eyes, she recognized it with a start. Taeyeon was afraid to get heartbroken. By who, though? Was Taeyeon thinking Tiffany’d be the one to- she stopped her thoughts abruptly and frowned.
“No,” Tiffany said out loud, instead, making the other girl blink in confusion. “No,” she repeated, reaching her finger up and placing it lightly on Taeyeon’s forehead. “Stop, whatever it is you’re thinking.”
Taeyeon blinked again, this time in disbelief.
“I know.” Tiffany smiled softly. Placing her hands lightly on Taeyeon’s hip, she leaned forward and rested her forehead against hers gently. “I’m sorry too,” she murmured. “But stop.”
Taeyeon moved a hand and placed it over Tiffany’s arm, she grinned her lopsided smile weakly but Tiffany wasn’t satisfied when she still saw the lingering hint of fear in those usually bright eyes.
Nudging her nose against the girl’s, Tiffany said the one thing she felt the need for Taeyeon to hear. So she gathered all of her heart and told her, “I love you.”
Without replying, Taeyeon broke their eye contact, letting her eyes wander down to her lips and to her chest. Her thumb brushed lightly over Tiffany’s arm as her other hand reached up and she pressed her palm right over Tiffany’s heart.
Tiffany furrowed her eyebrows, watching quietly as Taeyeon closed her eyes and let out a small sigh. She wanted to hear it too, so she nudged her nose against hers again.
When Taeyeon opened her eyes again, she remained silent as she gazed back at her. Her eyes were still tainted with fear and a little sadness but amongst it, Tiffany felt it; she could feel her love.
Tiffany had thought it was impossible for anyone to love more than she did, but when the other girl nudged her nose back, and smiled a little, she knew Taeyeon did; Taeyeon loved more.
Love had begun again, for Tiffany. Love came along with fear, but as Tiffany covered Taeyeon’s hand that was covering her heart, she knew love was so much bigger than she had ever imagined it to be. She wasn’t sure yet, if Taeyeon was her person but she wanted her to be.
In the most beautiful ways, Taeyeon had her heart in her hands and made Tiffany love, again.

That’s it. :D
Well, I once told myself that I'd stop writing Taeny when one of them starts dating for real. Dynamic is gone, it just won't be the same for me to write them romantically anymore. They’d be with someone, happy with someone, and I'd like to respect that as well. (not that the writers still writing are disrespecting them, of course not, but you know what I mean. I hope. D: ) LIES (well not really, lol but I take it back.)
Don't get me wrong. I'll always love Taeny, no one can deny what they have. /forever OTP <3
So, this isn't a goodbye. Should I write them again (and I probably would), it would be in a context where their relationship is open-ended and not specified. A lot like how I wrote All Yours (& All Yours, Too) LIES, AGAIN. Lol.
I WILL NOT STOP READING TAENY, THOUGH. Not yet, at least. Cold turkey does not become me. To friends & other writers still writing Taeny, please, by all means. :D /especially for Mix /especially for ES /amongst a few others
