i was reviewing all the CFPs i got this week (from the upenn mailing list) and i found some that were pretty interesting, like this one:
Burger asserts that the historical avant-garde consists of Dada, surrealism, and Russian constructivism and that all latter-day avant-garde movements are naive repetitions of the energies and limitations of those historical movements.
i'm assuming burger is someone's last name. that's a funny name.
and there were some ridiculous ones, like this one:
Shelves and shelves have been filled with scholarly attention to baseball in
American history, culture, literature, politics, etc.; likewise, shelves and
shelves have been devoted to the study of humor (in American history, culture,
literature, politics, etc.). Yet, surprisingly little has been said about the
relationship between the two.
