Whirlwind
3.3 has been going by so fast I don't even have time to blog. The same day the patch landed I was invited to a 10 man ICC run. We downed Marrowgar and Lady Deathswhisper the first night, and came back the second to nail the Gunship Battle and Saurfang. Bears and rocket packs. Heh.
I'm loving ICC so far. It's a return to the nuances in strategy that make raiding fun for me. I want it complicated. I want it hectic. Mostly, I want to not be dying of boredom standing in the same room all the time in encounters that can be brute forced with enough healing throughput. Yeah ToC, I'm looking at you.
I have been spending most of my time since the patch tanking on my baby bear in random heroics and taking guild members through the new ICC 5 mans. I really love the new 5 mans for making me actually have to think about my pulls and sometimes even use CC to make sure it goes cleanly. I've been using them to help alts and new 80's gear up quickly, and having a heck of a lot of fun along the way. Pit of Saron is becoming one of my new favourites. HoR is ok if I'm tanking. If it's not I tend to weep softly until the wiping is over.
The random heroics have sometimes been fun, sometimes been awful, and my feelings about the new dungeon system are pretty much GAH all the tanks I have gotten in here are FAIL and so I am going to tank so I don't have to deal with it but all the healers and DPS are fail too and GAH I HAVE TO DEAL WITH ALL THIS FAIL AND I HATE YOU ALL AND WHY DO YOU KEEP KILLING ME OVER AND OVER AGAIN IN HALLS OF REFLECTION WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU?
Then I see how close I am to another piece of tier 9 on my fourth alt and I queue again.
My restoration shaman picked up Nibelung to use as an elemental item in the last ICC 25. No-one wanted it and rather than let them shard it I grabbed it. Given my elemental weapon was a 232 it is in theory an upgrade even though it's a dreadfully silly vanity item. It's really pretty though, and the proc looks extremely cool. Given it can proc off every tick of flame shock I almost have an excuse to use it elemental. I keep carrying it around in heroics restoration as well though because, well, I hardly need my full mp5 and haste in a random heroic and did I mention it looks really, really pretty?
There's a heck of a lot more stuff going on in my WoW life. I am looking at dialing back a little since it's summer and there's sunlight and I should go out in it occasionally. Or at least look at it through a window sometimes.
