The Fall of the Lich King

I woke this morning to Whither telling me that 3.3 was patching on his PC, right then. It was some hours later before we could log on during which time I obsessively refreshed realm status.

The new dungeon system is everything that was promised - it's wonderful, it's amazing, and it's going to revolutionise my gameplay. My first experience with it was when I queued up my baby priest for the Random Heroic Dungeon as a healer. She was wearing a mix of blues and iLevel 200ish purples so I was a little nervous I might get something hard, like HoL.

I ended up in The Forge of Souls.

I loved every moment of it. The instance was atmospheric and visually striking. It was extremely challenging to heal, particularly the final boss, but I was rewarded by Mord'retha Robes. Quite a reasonable upgrade from my Moonshroud Robes.

Since the new dungeon tool is cross realm it seems to be extremely easy to get into a group. I was averaging 30 second wait times as heals or DPS at low-traffic times for my server that are usually difficult to PUG. Even if you have a fully pre-made group, the dungeon tool can be used to teleport the group to the instance. Once there, you can teleport out to repair or grab reagents, and then just pop straight back in again. Being on a PVP server where the opposite faction has a far larger population, this is an absolute boon. No more dying at summoning stones!

Then, just when I thought it couldn't get any better they went and gave me a puppy.

Blizzard, I love you. I really, really love you.
