ok, so i've got this thing...i think i've told most of you threes of readers about this, but here is my formal plea: i've got this thing. my cracked-out church decided, after the previous example of another church and the donation of cash of an intrigued congregation member, to hand out a bunch of $100 bills in envelopes to unsuspecting vict--er--volunteers, calling them "kingdom assignments." kind of like the master handing out the talents...well, stupid here stood up and got one when the pastor asked for volunteers. we get this $100, and have to invest it somehow outside of the church, and report back to the congregation 90 days later. it's getting closer to when we need to report back, and i have visions of being the crappy steward that gets yelled at for sticking her hundred bucks in her desk drawer and forgetting about it...i have a semi-idea, but i need help to do it. what i want to do is either buy a bunch of sandwiches or make them (what the $100 would be spent on), taking them downtown and handing them out to homeless people with a note saying where we're from (hence the you part) and why we care whether or not they eat that day--nothing cheesy, like, "Jesus loves you! John 3:16," but something a little more sincere. i'd like to do it on a saturday morning--the week before the day before easter? if there's someone who would actually show mercy on me and accompany me downtown to hand these things out and can't do that day, i'd gladly change the date. it shouldn't take that long...i don't know how many loaves of bread and lunchmeat packages $100 buys, but it's probably not that much. might take some thick skin, though, depending on who we meet up with. i
guess i mention that because i do not have thick skin, and would need someone with me to keep me from, i don't know, breaking down in tears on 5th because the paranoid schizophrenic thought there was cyanide in the turkey i tried to force him to eat, which he proceeded to throw at me. now who doesn't think that sounds like a good time? : D
c'mon. help a sister out.
i love you...
please?
