ok! so the answer to the movie quiz was the Werckmeister Harmonies, a 2000 movie directed by hungary's own béla tarr. if you have the patience for obscure films composed of very long shots, i recommend checking it out, because it's so great. especially the opening shot, which is what was screencapped below (by the nice folks at senses of cinema). as of i think february it's now available on R1 dvd from facets, and is on netflix as well. "woo".
