How I root for teams in the NFL playoffs

There are several ways you can get me on your side in the playoffs. The easiest of which is to be the Redskins, then I root for you no matter what.

Another way I'll root for you is if you play against any of the following teams:
Dallas
Oakland
New England
St Louis
San Francisco
New York Giants
That's basically listed in descending order so if those teams play each other then I root for the team I like more than the other team, aka if New England plays Oakland in the playoffs, I root for New England.

If Dallas and Oakland ever play in a superbowl I may just refuse to watch it and consider the entire season a waste of time.

I also have a secondary set of teams that I don't really consider myself a fan of, but for various reasons I don't mind it when they win, and sometimes if my team is out (which they always are lately) it gives me something to root for, rather than watching with pure indifference.
San Diego (I was born there and lived there as a kid)
Baltimore (Proximity to home)
Panthers (Ric Flair syndrome)
Atlanta (lived there)
Philly (lived there)

Now this isn't to say I'm a fan of any of these teams because if any one of them plays the Redskins at any given time they can go to hell. If they lose I don't really care, it's just nice if they win over whoever.

There are a few other things I like to see in the playoffs:
Games in the snow. If you're playing in the snow on your home field I might root for you (as long as you aren't on my list of detested teams)

Players I like. Sometimes a team I don't care about have a player or two on there I really like, like when Detroit had Barry Sanders, I never liked the Lions but who didn't like watching Barry?

I like watching defense oriented teams kill people with their defense. The Raven's superbowl win a few years ago is a perfect example. The Bears win over the Patriots in 85 is a perfect example. Not only did the offense embarass the Pats, the defense was insanely good.

So yesterday I was rooting for Carolina and Baltimore. Even though Carolina got killed I didn't really care, and I wasn't super excited about the Baltimore win. Today I'm going for Philly, the Pittsburgh game I don't really care about because they play San Diego but there's something about the Steelers that make them hard for me to root against in the winter. Maybe it's their stadium, I dunno.
